The Denver Film Society and Film on the Rocks have seen fit to bring to their popular film series a 13th film, making it the biggest season in FOTR history. On August 22nd, join The Swayback & My Body Sings Electric Music for a screening of the classic 1980 slasher flick “Friday the 13th.” Watching nubile teens get hacked to pieces by the inimitable Jason Voorhees is always the best way to spend an evening, especially when it involves beautiful Red Rocks Amphitheatre, so I implore all of you to go. Tickets can be purchased here.
In addition, the Denver Film Society also presents the Film on the Rocks B-Sides, a collection of films screened at the Denver Film Center on Colfax to complement the regular FOTR screenings. Utilizing a theme, director, or actor, the B-Sides program will bring a film for five days for the city folk who weren’t able to make it up to Red Rocks. No film has been introduced as a complement to “Friday the 13th” yet, but if you’re listening Denver Film Society I recommend “The Burning.”
