One of the most popular films at Fantastic Fest 2011 was “Extraterrestrial,” Nacho Vigalondo’s follow-up to “Timecrimes.” Not your run-of-the-mill alien invasion film, it was described by Vigalondo as “not…like a ‘War of the Worlds’ with Tom Cruise, where a regular person manages to somehow closely witness all major invasion events…most people will experience a global alien invasion without even knowing it has happened, by listening to rumors, or engaging in pointless activities.”
Like most films that are foreign and good, the odds of seeing it on the big screen in your city are slim to none. Well, we don’t think that’s very cool, so we’re doing something about it.
Mile High Cinema, working in conjunction with Gordon and the Whale, presents an exclusive one-night only screening of “Extraterrestrial” on June 28th at 9:30 p.m. at the Denver Film Center on Colfax. The screening is organized through Tugg.com, a service that sort of works like Kickstarter, but for movie screenings: You organize an event, and if your event gets enough ticket reservations, it’s on!
Not content with just bringing you the finest in foreign comedies about alien invasions, we’re going to be holding a small trivia contest/giveaway after the screening where you’ll have a chance to win DVDs and posters related to the film.
So come on down and join us on June 28th for a kick ass time. Remember! You have to go the Tugg.com event webpage and reserve your tickets. We need to reserve 59 tickets to hold the screening, so get on it!
