The Alamo Drafthouse Aspen Grove doesn’t open until early 2013, but that doesn’t mean they’re sitting on their asses, twiddling their thumbs. As a way of introducing themselves to the community, they have taken over the Aspen Grove Free Family Film Series, putting their own unique Drafthouse-style spin on five screenings taking place over the course of the summer.
The first of these films is the recently released and critically acclaimed “The Muppets,” starring Jason Segel and Amy Adams. Did I mention it’s also a sing-along and that the Muppets themselves will be skydiving into the event to kick off the screening?
Add in a bounce house, a Muppet trivia contest, a photo booth, and a portrait contest judged by Littleton’s Mayor Debbie Brinkman, and you have the perfect cure for the mid-week blues. Avery Brewing Co. will be on hand as a sponsor, and for a $2 donation to Loving Hugs, Inc. attendees over the age of 21 can partake in their fine brew. See the official flyer below for further information.
The event will take place Wednesday, June 13, and the gates will open at 7:00 p.m. The screening begins at sundown, so be sure to get there early enough to participate in the festivities and come say hi! Jason and I will be there to help set things up, so come tell us what you think of the event!
The new Drafthouse is currently being built, so the event will be held at the Aspen Grove Shopping Center at 7301 South Santa Fe Dr., Littleton, CO 80120.
