Reel Social Club to Host 2nd Annual ‘Summer Scream at Lakeside’ on August 30

If you’re a member of the Reel Social Club, love rides and free beer, or just don’t have anything better to do, then you should probably come on out to Lakeside Amusement Park for the 2nd Annual “Summer Scream” event, hosted by the Denver Film Society and the Reel Social Club.

Yes, all you can drink beer and unlimited rides await you from 6-11 p.m. on August 30 at Lakeside. The chance to buy early bird tickets has passed, but you can still get tickets for $25 online or for $30 at the door. It is, of course, free for Reel Social Club members, which you can join for only $60.

“With an open bar, unlimited rides, and live music, there’s really no better way to celebrate the end of summer than going all out at a classic amusement park,” said Katie Shapiro, one of the founders of the Reel Social Club. “We were the first cultural non-profit to rent out Lakeside (liquor license included!) and hope to build on this fundraiser supporting the Denver Film Society for years to come.”

I went last year and it’s an absolute blast, and I’ll definitely be attending this year. If you decide to go, give us a shout out and we’ll drink and carouse and ride poorly-constructed amusement rides together. Tickets can be purchased here.
